Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reporting on the lenient police approach to DUI cases caused the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to State authorities issuing a more stringent directive regarding these instances. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston led her to serve as a co-anchor, reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to joining Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. The present role of O'Dell as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She's reported on events such as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of shows that were pre-showarrivals in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes.
